A Camo Look for All Occasions
, 10 28th, 2009
Camo clothing used to be a sign of hard-nosed males and confined to the wardrobes of rugged outdoorsmen and the military. In the past few years, however, there has been an embracing of camouflage by the fashion industry. Now you can find more options than the traditional jacket and cargo pants, and there is even a wide line of ladies camouflage clothing.
The look isn’t limited to casual wear either; you can find stylish skirts, blazers and purses with the traditional camouflage pattern. Whether you are looking for hunting gear or something to wear around town, there is now a camouflage look to match any woman’s taste.
Get Ready, Ladies, Hunting Season Is Near
, 10 14th, 2009
Deer hunting season is just weeks away in my neck of the woods, and there’s no reason for ladies to feel left out of the fun. Hunting camps are often thinly veiled versions of “old boys’ clubs,” but that doesn’t mean women can’t band together to enjoy their own outdoors experience. For my part, I learned to shoot a .22 rifle at the age of 11, and I’ve been scouring the forest for prize bucks every fall since.
New hunters should be warned that the vocation isn’t for the faint of heart – or the thin of skin. You’ll need to acclimate yourself to the rough, abrupt language that holds sway at hunting camp. As for the hunt itself, you should remember to stay downwind from a group of deer as they can smell human scent in the wind. Bring a pair of binoculars to optimize your vision of the woods and wear womens camouflage clothing so that you’re effectively hidden.
